I emailed our ISP and this is what they said...
"I'm not sure how your web application is sending a response but it
needs to authenticate the same as your clients or you will get the relaying denied error message. The other option is to have your web application send out through xxxx.xxxxxxx.xxx which does not require the authentication."
Sounds to me like if I use the alternative mail server (xxxx) I don't need to have any sort of username and password. Does that make sense?
