How you do it will be very application dependent, but, yeah, something
like that. Basically, they will need something on their end that
invokes your web server over SSL and transfers the data values to you.
Once transfered, what you do with the data and how you do that will be
dependent on the data and the business rules governing that data.
But, yeah, you have the idea.
