don't seem very suited. We have a CFMX / Windows 2003 server and it
has many problems, the main one being that the CFMX server restarts
itself without reason from time to time, which you might not notice if
you don't use session variables, but if you do, like us, then all of a
sudden you lose your session and if you are in the middle of doing
something then this can be a right pain in the ass. These is a large
thread about this issue on the MM website:
http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=2&threadid=785970
However, when I referred this to a guy on the MM development team
during the recent beta testing of the recent Updater I got ignored.
We also have found two other problems.
1) We regularly get an error that reports 'Corrupt Table' but I think
this could be a memory issue on our server.
2) C++ CFX that work ok on Win2000 / CFMX don't work on W2k3 / CFMX. I
assume this is a W2k3 issue and not a CF issue.
Also, we do manage a CF5 / W2k3 server for some one and this server
has had 100% uptime for about the last 4 - 5 months. I'm not sure
however how much traffic the site on it gets, but I don't think it is
that busy, but reasonably. CF5 installed without any issues.
Hope that helps. If you would like anything further, contact me directly.
Andrew.

Subject: CFMX 6.1 on W2K3
To: CF-Talk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Hi Folks,
We are currently in the process of upgrading one of our ISP hosted
servers (i.e. having a new server replace an existing server).
The ISP specifies that all new windows boxes are installed with W2K3
standard Server.
Following the posts yesterday about problems people have had with
W2K3, I was wondering if I could have a more exhaustive response from
people who have had experience with it - both good and bad, as to
whther it is really a viable platform for CF hosting, or whether we
would be much better off sticking to W2K.
Also if anyone has had experience with CF5 on W2K3, I'd like to hear
from them too - as we may still have to run some sites on CF5 until we
are completely happy that any MX related (coding) issues have been
sorted...
Cheers
