That information may already be public, but he got his information
from the beta itself, which is a violation of the NDA.  If he'd posted
the information just as an FYI with no mention of the beta, then we
probably wouldn't be having the discussion.

Good: talking about public information
Bad: talking about info from the beta, regardless if it happens to be public
