When you call the file in a browser (not using CFHTTP) do you see any other
tags in there (remember you may not see any extra tags in the browser -
you'll have to view the source)?  Is the file your're trying to hit public,
can you post the URL?

If so you should check if other things are adding content to your pages -
your web server might have an auto include for example.

Its just a plain old text file - I have added the column names in with and
without quotes around them. No matter what I have tried, I end up with the
same error. I have even made a new text file as below:

A,B,C,D,E,F

"something","goes","in","here","to","test"

You get the picture, no matter what I have tried, I still get the same
errors.
