Any ideas why IE (5.0) would be locking up on an NT 4 Server machine? It
was working fine, but at some point in the past few days it started locking
up when I access any web site. Local files (i.e. Opening an HTM file on the
server hard drive) display properly. Netscape Navigator, Website, Cold
Fusion, WS_FTP all work fine, so it's nothing in the overall TCP/IP stack.
When I try and access a page, it locates the site (i.e. the DNS responds)
and it shows "Downloading". At that point, IE locks and I need to use Task
Manager to close it down. Running the Active Setup also locks up after
about 200k of download. I'm sure that Active Setup uses the IE code under
the covers somewhere, so that explains why it also locks up. I've tried
repairing IE, and reinstalling. I'm hoping to avoid an uninstall/reinstall
as IE touches so many parts of the OS. :-(
Help!
Thanks!
John
