the only thing close to an internet cafe here in Albuquerque is Flying Star, a local coffeehouse that advertises itself more as a meeting place and bakery than anything else. It also distinguishes itself by subscribing to about 50 different publications, which patrons are welcome to read at their tables. This is one reason the place is beloved by me at least.... I woould not normally read or think about the Dublin papers or the latest Economist.
I have seen internet cafes in Canada and in Mexico, but I suspect that Bill and Melinda Gates have but them out of business in the US by donating all those computers to libraries, schools and colleges. If you fel like venturing across the border, in six weeks in some very small towns there this spring I found one one place that had no internet cafes at all.
