True - but it might be nice if we could discover a way to convince people to
use software without blackmail.

I'm also not at all convinced that if 90% of people were using FireFox that
spyware would be eliminated.  It seems a shade of the "is it less secure or
more attractive a target" argument to me - but doesn't really address the
problem.
