Virtual PC will let you run Linux or Windows on your Mac (just as, by the way, VM Ware will let you run Windows on a Linux Box without having to dual boot).
Personally I'm not a fan of the Mac... but it's nothing more than personal preference. Both XP and OS X are very mature UIs (if only Linux could catch up in that department). But obviously those that really like Macs REALLY like Macs - you'll find no shortage of MS (oops... I forgot shift+4 again - I hope you can still tell who I'm talking about) haters in that camp.
