They backpedaled a bit on continuing to sell their service agreements, but most on the ipswitch lists regarded it as a dead product as a result; killed by an untrustworthy company, and their list traffic has since slowed to a crawl. The whole scene was quite epic when it went town a couple of months ago. Floods of Imail users moved to SmarterMail. I have a couple of servers running it now. Got it horrendously cheap at http://helmtastic.com. A loophole in the SM reseller agreements that lets it go out this cheap will be closed by 1/1/05, I hear. The folks at SM told me I was crazy to buy it anywhere else. And they have been quite responsive on tech support. If you must have an 800 lb. gorilla, look at merak mail server. While SM has worked great for me, Merak was my first choice until I decided to try SM and see if it worked.
