Well Eclipse can do most any kind of file so it is a single tool just
like you want. I use it for Java, JSP, CFML, C++, XML, PHP, and SQL
almost daily. But the CFEclipse part is just for cfml. There is a C#
plug-in, a XML plug-in, a regular expression plugin, an xpath plugin
(the list goes on and on and on). The reason eclipse is so cool is
that the work is broken up between the different plugins - meaning no
one plugin does everything.

If you want to you can set XML files to be opened (associated) with
the CFEclipse plugin and it'll color code, but you'd get the most bang
for your buck getting an XML focused plugin. What that will do will
create a special editor that starts when you open an XML file - sounds
like you are missing that plugin.

It's not "Off the hook" is it ;-D

Um... something is horridly wrong then. It sounds like your workspace
got hosed if you have no other plugins at all. Just to verify, you are
talking about Window>Show Perspective>Other... menu?

So you do have other ones... when you select a different one your
views (panes) don't rearrange?

If you want to still give it a shot, sign up on the cfeclipse mailing
list and post a screen shot of what you are seeing, we'll be able to
help you a more - I am scratching my head trying to visualize what you
are seeing.
