Hi, Matt...

Ease of setup won't be an issue...I'll probably have to setup
my clients' systems for backup anyway...users around here,
even the business owner aren't very technically savvy, which is
good setup charges, to! Besides, I'd rather do it myself to make
sure it's done right.

The main problem is the cost of software I'd have to charge for
just to get them started.

So, with your setup, I'd buy Serv-U to put on my Windows 2000 Server
to setup a secure, multi-user FTP service, then install a $50 FTP Client on
each user's
machine? FTPV does unattended, scheduled, secure FTP backups?
(I guess unattended and scheduled is a little redundant, huh...)

WinBackup emailed me today and said their new version should
be ready in two weeks and would provide for encrypted FTP backup...

Rick,

This won't do too much to help I'm afraid, but I use FTP Voyager's
Secure FTP feature to make a hopefully-secure, encrypted connection to
my server, where the password is set to be delivered as a hash. Plus
my FTP server -- Serv-U -- is set to establish secure connections in
the first place, and it is set to expect the password to come in as a
hash.

US$90 for the server component and US$50 for each FTP client. Not
where you want to be, I know. Also its something your typical
brainless user, which I think is your target here, isn't going to be
able to easily set up. Maybe another client is easier. FTPV can do
it fine but its not just click-and-go to start.
