If you use CSS then the # doubling goes away (excpet for the occasional 
image map or internal page anchor).

It was been proven time and time again (everytime this thread shows up) that 
the performance hit due to extra parsing is negligable (a few milliseconds) 
or non-existent (since CF 5).

Your code is then cleaner and easier to read....less possible points of 
failure due to missing CFOUTPUTs.

To me it's a no brainer....I've done it this way for as long as I can 
remember (and I've been at it since 3.1)

.....but of course...each to their own...whatever floats your boat ;-)
