My old company, Programming Research, specialized in code analysis
tools for FORTRAN, C, C++ and I believe they have a Java analyzer now.
We had many, many millions of lines of source code - some proprietary,
some open source - and one of the most striking statistics we
uncovered was that Dutch software engineers write better code, on
average, than anyone else in the world... go figure!
