In my admittedly imperfect opinion it looks like you guys just glossed over this and didn't think it though very well. Understandable since cfmail got a lot of attention in 6.1 and you were looking to do higher and mightier things with other aspects of the product in 7 (and succeeded, I think). Regardless, CF needs a mail retry feature. The solution I cobbled together yesterday from someone else's previous work should do the trick.
