In all those years, you've never had a user come back and say, "You know
that feature we said we'd never need - well we need it" and had to re-design
the DB, the app and the interface to cope? Wow, where do I go to get users
like that?

I always design things properly the first time and I am always glad I did,
because this always happens, despite what is in the specs doc (even though I
tell them that if it is not in the specs doc they don't get it in the first
version).

Just a master degree in Computer Science, about 30 years in programming,
about 15 years in database systems (I said 10, but it is really 15), and
about 9 in CF.

anyhting with a comma delimnated list to bit me in the ass sooner or later

Lack of experience, no doubt ;-)
