You've got the right idea with deleting in reverse. That's they way to do it if you have a gui and want to trash a selected few. Also, Paul's comments are good. Delte all is faster than deleting one at a time.
One more tip for you, if you process one at a time, it's easy to run a GetAll on message #1, process it, delete it and get the next message #1 until there aren't any more. This avoids any problems with Paul's structure, say you receive 3 emails in the time it takes to download/process and delete them all.
