Thanks Jim, that helps a bit. I'm still not sure what I'd do with application.cfc instead of what I'm doing now, but you've given me something to look for.
Tony, that link just takes me to the livedocs MX developers guide. The reason I asked the question in the first place, is I was looking for a document somewhere that explains the new features of CFMX7 in more detail than the broad-brushstroke marketing bumph on the Macromedia site, yet not in such lengthy intricate detail as the livedocs. I find it near impossible to learn general techniques from the CFMX documentation. It's perfect for learning the specifics of a tag, or a function, but for understanding things like this, it's too hard. Does anyone know of any resource on the net anywhere that is a bit more comprehensive than the marketing stuff on the MM site and yet not so detailed as the CFMX documentation?
