Well...with appropriate DRM in place, the digital version
would, too...

And how about a "help system" based on the CF documentation,
that could also incorporate books from Ben and other authors
upon purchase. When the digital version is purchased, the option
is available at any time include all or part of the relevant information
from any books or other sources into the help system. Copy and
paste...

A "build-it-yourself-based-on-your-needs" help system, rather
than the laborious "open CF Documentation, search for
related terms, pick through the potential information, finally
find the relevant info" system now available...or even, the
"go-to-bookshelf-pull-Ben's-book-search-for-relevant-material-
and/or-examples" available with the printed versions.

Such as context-sensitive RegExp help, that not only includes
instructions and examples deemed appropriate by others, but also
instructions and examples that I choose, which would be appropriate
to my level of expertise and use...or code examples that *I*
deem appropriate for *my* knowledge, experience, and usage context.

A system that I can build on-the-fly; including content from
CF Documentation, books from Ben and others, code examples
from CF-Talk, or personal communications, our own code development,
instead of having all this in different places.

Appropriate DRM could allow the digital version to be re-purposed
into all sorts of contexts...of course for those who prefer printed a
printed and bound version for their bookshelf, the cover, with faux content,
could be made available for a small surcharge
so you can admire your books, impress your friends,
and still get work done more in a more timely and efficient manner... ;o)

Just thinking out loud...

Rick

And Ben's books have great re-sale value too.

I dunno, I am not 100% on board on that e-book/pdf thing. Personally, I
like having Ben's lineup of books all bound up nicely sitting right here on
my shelf. The convenience is worth it, IMO. I would think that print
would make Ben's exposure much more worth the effort in the CF community.
