Actually, my asking that question on this list is bound to produce a few replies, since many CF people work in Higher Education, a place where LabVIEW is also often used.

In fact, the whole idea behind dataflow languages is pretty nifty. I was introduced to it when I was in college and doing work experience in a research lab. My group was doing stuff with MEMS, and I needed to use LabVIEW to build some instruments for testing the wireless networking stack I was working on.
