Does anyone know of a good (preferably free) tool that will watch a directory and if there are any files older than XXX send some kind of notification/alert?
Apparently this morning around 1:29am GMT CF got locked out of the Spool directory. It could write to the directory, but wasn't sending mail. I ended up having to kick the services to get it up and running again. Anyway, my boss wants to make sure we know ASAP if mails not going out. The most straightforward method seems like to watch the spool directory and if there's files in there older than a couple of minutes, well, then I know the spool isn't sending mail. Obviously, I'd need to be notified in some manor other than CFMAIL, so I'd prefer the product to be able to send SMTP mail on it's own. So, in a nutshell I'm looking for something to monitor spool folders and to generate a notification alert if a folder has files in it and it has not removed any files recently. Anyway recommendations? I've been searching all evening and haven't found anything that does exactly what I need... -Dan ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Logware (www.logware.us): a new and convenient web-based time tracking application.
