That is what I am doing now but it doesn't seem right; I mean, I can read
the contents of the directory and loop over the result set and format
everything with HTML. What is the benefit of this xml document... To save
some steps in determining attribute values for the images? 

I will check out the links you sent. Ironically enough I am at the w3schools
one now. :-)
