Exactly - this is a WebSphere shop by nature. Most the apps are WebSphere 5 using either custom JSP code or IBM's Portal server. CF was grandfathered in when my company was bought out by this much larger company and it's hanging on by a thin thread. It runs a host of legacy applications (high use, still maintained legacy applications to be sure, but anything not done in JSP/WebSphere is considered "Legacy"). The official statement is that CF is a "rust in place" technology for us. The fact that we couldn't bribe MS to continue supporting NT 4.0 is the only reason we're being forced to upgrade (since CF 4.5 was never certified on Windows 2003). The servers are currently dedicated hardware running CF 4.5 on NT 4.0 in a facility that will be shut down after the "NT End of Life" project is completed. We're being told to move to the enterprise farms of AIX VMWare servers. With this (really unfortunate) licensing issue however our options are either to suck up the cost or continue on dedicated hardware: neither one of which will improve CF's standing among management and the infrastructure teams. It's really getting harder and harder to defend CF (at this place at least)... ;^) Jim Davis ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Logware (www.logware.us): a new and convenient web-based time tracking application.
