I've been using ColdFusion MX 6.1 (with updater on Windows 2003 Server) and
Dreamweaver MX 2004 (Mac OS 10.4) for awhile through SFTP and RDS. However,
two weeks, RDS stopped functioning.

In Dreamweaver MX 2004 I get this message:

"The server name or address could not be resolved.

Possible reasons:
1. The URL specified for this site's testing server may be incorrect:
https://myserver.com:8551/
2. The testing server may be incorrectly configured (for example, ColdFusion
may not be running)."

The URL is correct and I am able to connect to it in a browser.

ColdFusion (and all of its services, including App Server, ODBC Server, and
ODBC Agent) are running. I've also tried restarting them.

Since then, I've looked in my web.xml, no changes were made to RDS. In
CFAdmin, the RDS Password menu choice does exist (and changing the password
is allowed). I am also still able to browse my server's directories through
the Java Applet.

I then tried using an URL without HTTP SSL and on the standard port 80.
Once again, it came up with the same dialog text. (The site did work in a
web browser.)

Then I tried to reinstall ColdFusion MX 6.1. I tried the standard
uninstall, but it froze when editing the Registry. I then did a manual
uninstall per Macromedia's technote (removing reg keys, and the
directories). Next I installed 6.1 (Standard) and the IIS 6 connector.
Then I went into CFAdmin and went through the wizard making sure that RDS
was enabled.

I tried RDS, it didn't work.

Then I installed ColdFusion MX 6.1 updater. RDS still didn't work.

In DreamWeaver I am able to connect to a different site on a different
server and use RDS. So, I don't think it is a DreamWeaver issue. Although,
with trying everything on the server side, it just may be a DWMX2004 issue.

Can anyone help?
