Whole thing...

CF doesn't know ahead of time what's being used within the method, so
it loads up the CFC as though you had instantiated it to ensure the
method's environment is the same as it would be in other
circumstances.

I'm assuming you're talking about using <cfinvoke
component="path.to.cfc"> rather than invoking against a created
object.
