This is all textbook. Anytime a company misses numbers and its stock drops,
attorneys come out of the woodwork to try to get people to sue. It's so
standard it's sickening. All they need to do is convince one shareholder
with ONE share of stock to sue, and they've got a class-action lawsuit.
Then people jump on the bandwagon, the amount the attorney can sue for
starts multiplying, more attorneys with more clients jump on the bandwagon,
and pretty soon the company starts seriously thinking about buckling and
settling out of court, their insurance paying the suit, and then they try to
rebuild.
In the meantime, the shareholders get a bit of money from Allaire, the
company is hurt, and a bunch of lawyers make a slew of money for some sleazy
work.
