<CFSET x = "some text"> looks like an SGML tag, however x here is not an 
attribute
defined in the DTD, it can be any variable name choosen by the user and, 
although
I may be wrong, I'm not sure this is correct in SGML.  

Otherwise, CFML is pretty SGML compliant.
