Hey All,

Looking for opinions and code snippets for the various methods of behind the
scenes process (trying to avoid full page refreshes and having to use Flash).

I'm trying to do things like this:

1) User selects a drop down option....that fires off a request to get data to
populate 1 or more drop downs (and pre-loading all possible data and using
related multi-selects will not fly)

2) User enters (or selects) a few or more fields of data....once all bits are
entered/filled, a request is fired off and the response is used to change the
content of various DIVs (or other containers). For example 4 fields are
required to narrow down what the user is trying to get at....the request would
then verify that the combo of those field values matches a valid DB record).

Assume I know nothing about this kind of processing (plz keep the acronyms to a
minimum). ;-)

TIA

Cheers
