I think this is actually the most valid argument.  If you have a
buncha CF developers, it makes little sense to use PHP.  If you have a
shop full of PHP developers, you should probably be using PHP.  In
your case it's not so black and white if both of you are going to be
working on the project, but if it's just you (or just him), then the
answer for language is right there...
