Don't want to over-simplify this, but I have received similar errors before "for no apparent reason" and the cause turned out to be the fact that I had an EXTENDS attribute in my CFCOMPONENT tag with an empty value (<CFCOMPONENT EXTENDS="" ...)
Could that have anything to do with it?
