I hate to chime in kind of OT, but these and other reasons are why I host on Linux with MySQL. I feel a lot safer, and my host doesn't have to run any unsafe scripts to turn off bad default options.
But I understand that most people are more familiar with Windows and such, and that's why they host on it. But really, Linux hosting is a no brainer. I don't ever really see the Linux side of things, unless I decide to ssh into my server and run some commands. Mostly I just see the file system over FTP, and this looks exactly the same as a Windows file system. All this doesn't matter if you're married to MS SQL, though. :) -------------- This transmission may contain information that is privileged, confidential and/or exempt from disclosure under applicable law.
