We've got a client who's complaining of some various JS window pop-up problems. The problems they're having doesn't affect every user, but most of them.
Here's a list of problems they're saying they have: 1) In IE, they claim a particular alert window (create with the window.open() method) keeps re-spawning for them at different times. This window has a specified name and shouldn't open up more than once per Internet Explorer context. I have never been able to duplicate the problem. I can keep open up instances of IE, but I'll never get more than the 1 pop-up window. 2) In Firefox, they're claiming one particular pop-up window doesn't open--even though they our domain configured to allow pop-ups. We have not been able to duplicate either problem. I suspect these issues may be do to 3rd party extensions, buy my question to everyone here is: Has anyone seen any 3rd party software (such as Norton's Internet Security line) cause problems like this with pop-ups? I'm just wonder if maybe the problem is outside of the browser itself. I've seen Norton's cause other strange problems in the past--it's very aggressive in what it thinks websites should and shouldn't be doing and there's almost no control over the product. -Dan ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:4:245143 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/4 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:4 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.4 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
