Thanks for everyone's input...I think I've found the only solution. When I set up Office 2007 Beta, I imported .pst file into Outlook, which was an Office 2000 Outlook formatted .pst file and, apparently, has greater restrictions on data file size than the .pst format in Office 2007.
I created a new data file in Outlook, imported all my current mail, etc, from the Personal Folders section and that created a new .pst in the new mail format. Now, I'm not running into the "The Folder is Full" message all the time and not problems deleting files...
