I have 8 dedicated boxes at HMS. 4 Load Balanced web servers, NAS, FTP
Server and 2 SQL Servers and have been very pleased with them. They are
very responsive. After we migrated we had some performance issues (these
weren't their fault and I knew it but the CEO forced the issue as it was
them) and to help calm our CEO they pulled in every top guy they had to help
us isolate the issue. They let us borrow a 2000 server to prove it wasn't
2003 was causing the issue. Great service and people.

They did have a few hiccups last couple of months like Russ said but
addressed them.

I have also have worked w/RackSpace. 3 Web servers and 1 SQL server. ZERO
downtime in 4 years. I haven't had to create many tickets with them but the
ones I have had to have been resolved quickly.

As Russ said they will be more expensive than HMS and I am not so sure the
extra costs are worth it.

We're using HMS for 5 dedicated servers with a loadbalancer. Although we've
had a few small problems with them, and we've had a combined downtime of
about 2 hours over the past couple of months (they had some router issues at
our datacenter), they have some very capable guys, and in general we're
pretty happy. Although the people on the front lines are sometimes less
then capable, they can handle most issues, sometimes it's getting in touch
with the senior guys that's a bit of a pain.

Also highly recommend rackspace, although I don't think they specialize in
CF (for that matter I don't' remember getting any CF specific help from HMS
either.). Rackspace is great, especially their support people, although
recently they've been hiring a lot of junior people as well, but even if
they can't figure out your problem right away, they can just go ask someone
more senior and usually figure out the problem with you on the phone.
Rackspace will cost a lot more though.... but if you need the support, and
can afford it, then get it.

Russ
