I can see where this is frustrating for people, but MySQL 5 has only been an official production release for a matter of months (about 6 or 7, right?) So, it's kind of hard to be down on Adobe for not having them in there. Anyhow, it's not difficult to drop in the ConnectorJ drivers and roll right along.
