One possible solution would be to create folders based on the client ID, then store only that client's documents in that folder. As an added layer of security, rename all the docs as they come in with some sort of UUID, that way you won't have to deal with the problem of overwriting files. In the DB store the Orginal Filename and the UUID you used, obviously the client ID and you should be all set.
