The newspapers here are reporting that the Australian Federal Police have made an arrest of a Queensland con artist under the Anti-spam laws for sending out more than TWO BILLION emails offering a certain small blue pill used for enhancing a man's weekend entertainment, so to speak. Some interesting facts come to light as a result of this arrest ..... He must have been making some serious dosh from this scam, because his server bill in Holland was to the tune of AUD$14,000 per month (about US$10,000). The Dutch server company must have been really worried about being caught out because they approached the Dutch police, thereby losing themselves a pretty big customer. The penalties for large scale spamming in Australia are up to AUD$220,000 PER DAY! for a first offence, and AUD$1,1MILLION PER DAY for a second offence.
