That's the same method I use, if I'm slicing up an image into multiple
parts,
some of which will be used in the final web page, then getting those images
sliced correctly down to the pixel can be a real pain...

I'm referring to using guides inside Photoshop. But I'm not talking about
using the slice tool. I place my guides, then draw a selection for the image
I want. Then I CTRL + SHIFT + C (which copies from all layers) and paste
into a new file, then I export that. I know it sounds like more work, and it
might actually be, but I'm so fast at this method that it probably balances
out. Plus I don't have to clean up the extra files and code that Photoshop
or Image Ready generates.
