I have several websites that were getting form-bot spam, at a rate of 60-100 a week. I added Bobby Hartsfield's bhcaptcha tag (http://acoderslife.com) to the forms and haven't gotten one since.
There is absolutely nothing anyone can do about human spam because if you keep the human from entering data then the form is useless. Unless you want to apply full content filtering.
