There's nothing wrong with setting up instances through the CF Administrator. However, there are a couple of little things that are different, so if you're used to using the JRun Admin Console you will either need to know those little things, or stick with the JRun Admin Console. The one thing that comes to mind right now is, if you use the CF Administrator, you will want to leave the default instance alone, and just use it to create and manage new instances and clusters. So, if I wanted two instances within a cluster, in CF 6.x I'd install using the multiserver option, then create a new JRun instance within the admin console, then use the CF installer to create an EAR, then deploy that EAR in the new instance, then create the cluster in the JRun Admin Console and add both instances, set up session replication, etc. If on the other hand, I'm using CF 7, I'd install using the multiserver option, then create two new instances from within the CF Administrator, then create a cluster from within CF Administrator, then add the instances to the cluster. It's actually quite a bit simpler, but the interface won't let me use the original instance within the cluster very easily. I'd then turn off the original instance in production, except when I need to manage the cluster.
