I don't have a problem with McAfee and SVN. I also don't have a problem with Avast with SVN. Only two I have tried though. I doubt its a spyware thing though, more than likely their firewall is not playing nicely, but that is just a guess. You might try a different port to see if the firewall is just doing a poor attempt at port blocking.
