I have a very odd issue. We have an application that has a web service, it just returns some relatively small XML packets. We also have a desktop toolbar written in VB by a 3rd party which contacts this web service. Recently the toolbar (which has not changed, it has been working fine for months) is failing to get any data back from the web service, i.e. no response at all, and only restarting ColdFusion seems to resolve this, although not always. This problem happens for every person with the toolbar installed. Yet calling the same web service in the same way via a CFM page causes no problems, even when the toolbar cannot get any response, the cfm page gets a response from the web service just fine. There are no errors in the logs to signify a problem. Does CF somehow respond differently to a request from a VB app that could cause this? -- Russ
