What authentication mechanism are you using when you post from a browser?
CFHTTP doesn't support NTLM or Digest authentication, if I recall correctly.
Are you sure you're using the same credentials in both cases? If you use a
packet sniffer to record traces of both conversations, what's different
between the two?
