The solution is to use a null address and include a link in the footer that goes to a "post to user" form. Anyone who is subscribed to the HoF system could then enter a message for someone (based on a userid) and have it saved to a site based communications board. You can then come into the site and read any messages to you that are stored with your account.
A little security will prevent multiple posts by the same user (3-5 per 30 minutes or so). There are a lot of features that can be added in this area.
