Usually, there has to be a commonality that defines the context of the
results.  You could compare two systems running the same app but
different processors to see which processor runs the app better.  You
can run two apps on the same processor to see which app performs better.
But, if you run two apps on two processors, all you'll know is that they
ran.

But, I'm sure you know that.
