Probably not, but I didn't read where the original poster said he was using a shared host. And you're probably right, the shared host probably has these turned off. I was just trying to show that it *is* possible to prepend and append files in php. I'm also used to hosting my own. I'm fortunate enough to work for a small company who is in the business of hosting for our clients.
