Remember me driving everybody nutz with this one? Basically, Internet Explorer, with a MS Update issued in February, when accessing a form using a security certificate using SSL 3.0 - will simply toss an error saying "page cannot be displayed" when trying to use a file field in a form to attach a file. Before the MS Update, IE6 worked FINE, no problems!!! Suddenly, I'm getting calls from clients going "What did you break???".
Firefox, Netscape, Opera, and Safari have no problems and the forms worked as expected. I spent days on this problem, talking to the hosting company, wondering what was wrong with my code, tearing my hair out, and getting behind on all my work. For those that followed along and were interested if I ever found a fix (all 1 of you - heh), I finally found a Microsoft tech note: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/815764/ At least the finally admitted there was a problem!! However, I tried the fix and this *still* doesn't cure the problem! The only thing I've been able to do is put a warning on my forms with the following, which seems the ONLY thing that will work: 1. Open the "Tools" Menu 2. Click "Internet Options" 3. Click the "Advanced" tab 4. Scroll almost to the bottom where it says "Security" 5. If "Use SSL 3.0" is checked, UNCHECK IT. If anybody else has any further insite into this, I'd appreciate the input! Farking Microsoft!!! I should send them an invoice for all the hours I spent trying to fix this!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| ColdFusion MX7 and Flex 2 Build sales & marketing dashboard RIAâs for your business.
