In the past the developing companies of ColdFusion i.e. Macromedia and
Allaire before them, offered deals to late adopters.  If you bought a
license of ColdFusion within a certain time period of a new version
coming out, you got a free upgrade (6 months IIRC).

I have NO knowledge that Adobe will continue this tradition, but it
maybe worth a few emails to find out.
