Maybe its just me but I haven't had much joy with PWS. It never wants to
install properly even though it seems to work. I've always found O'Reilleys
easy to get along with and easy to use and figure there might be a better
option than PWS. I need to use RDS for one particular bit and using PWS just
doesn't want to behave - I keep getting errors that CFSERVER needs to be
fired up even though it is running. I don't even know if using RDS and PWS
is workable. On top of that I'd like to get to know a bit more about other
"main streamish" servers so experience is the best teacher.

What are you trying to do?

PWS is very simple and easy to install/manage. What do you need from the web
server?

I run IIS4.0, PWS, and O'Reilly 2.4 on various machines for various reasons.

I am using an older version of O'Reilleys Website for local development on
my home PC (Win 98) and want to upgrade to something a "bit more modern",
but would rather not use PWS. Can anyone point me to something suitable,
preferably a freebie.
