That actually would make a bit of sense.  Google wants to find every
single article/blog/post on your site that they can.  If post.cfm?id=1
is a hit, then why wouldn't post.cfm?id=2, and post.cfm?id=3 be possible
hits too?

They probably keep going until they get a 404.
